אמר ריש לקיש החושד בכשרים לוקה בגופו דכתיב (שמות ד, א) והן לא יאמינו לי וגו' וגליא קמי קוב"ה דמהימני ישראל אמר לו הן מאמינים בני מאמינים ואתה אין סופך להאמין

That was merely with a rebuke. It was taught in accordance with the view that Aaron too became leprous. For it is written, And Aaron turned [wa-yifen] to Miriam, and behold, she was leprous:<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Num. XXVII. 10. ');">⁷</span> [and] it was taught: [That means] that he became free [panah] from his leprosy.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' 'he turned' is understood to mean, he turned away from, i.e., he was freed.
